To create a collaborative space where we can meet, work on projects, share knowledge, share resources and build things. Building things encompasses ideas, software, electronics, and robotics. Resources involves meeting space, information technology resources, tools and knowledge.
Some talk happened and movement to start a “hacker space” in the Hampton Roads area, as most metro areas of similar size have such spaces. If there was anyone with the resources to start such a thing it would be us. The rest is history. There have been obstacles to starting the space, and there will be obstacles in the future. But if we work together and keep our heads straight we are certain we will have success, and most important, fun.
In short, those that participate are responsible for making 757 Labs happen.
Most of the regions in the USA are now home to similar spaces. Our nearest spaces are HacDC, Hack.RVA (Richmond), and Tech Shop Durham.
